REVIEW – Cordelia Codd: Not Just the Blues by Claire O’Brien

codd2“One day, I, Cordelia Codd, will be glamorous. I will take taxis everywhere, have an absurd-looking little dog, and Wednesdays will be manicure day. But for now, I’m stuck with: a totally un-glamorous school bus chauffeur, two mean EX-best friends, a 50% reduction in parents, and cat litter Fridays. Did I tell you how utterly ridiculous my life is…?”

When Cordelia’s dad goes to London and never comes back, and when Cordelia’s mum’s boss gives her lots of extra work, she starts to get too exhausted to do anything else. Cordelia can’t do all the work even with the help of her mum’s friend. So Cordelia and her new-found friend Dru set up a misson to go to London and get her dad back.

I enjoyed all the events in this book. My least favourite character was Jen, one of Cordelia’s ex-best friends, because she was so nasty.

I think this book is really well written and I recommend it for 8+.
