“Fritha and her brothers Ric and Tol live in safe, ordinary Harebell Road. Then their scatty mother Min takes them away. Now they find themselves living in a derelict caravan in Cornwall and life isn’t safe or ordinary any more. Meeting a strange foreign boy, Stephen, leads Fritha to hidden treasure and danger and the answer to a family secret.”
This book type is mostly scary mystery with some family and adventure as well. It is set in Cornwall and while I was reading, I could imagine the scenery very clearly. The chapter headings are intriguing and made me want to read on. My favourite character is Tol because he is funny.
I would recommend this book to ages 9+.
