REVIEW – Operation Bunny by Sally Gardner

16064347Operation Bunny is about a girl called Emily Vole who is adopted by the Dashwoods. Soon they get other kids and Emily is forced to work for the family. Then Emily inherits from her next door neighbour an abandoned shop and a whole new magical world…

This is the first in the Wings & Co series by Sally Gardner. It introduces a world of magic and danger with lots of very different characters. I really liked Emily herself because she was brave and she put up with a lot. I also really liked Miss String because she was so nice to Emily and so eccentric.

The story had all of my favourite ingredients, including a mystery and a fantasy world. I enjoyed the evil beginning and I couldn’t wait to read more and find out what strange things would happen next for Emily and her friends. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series so far: The Three Pickled Herrings, The Vanishing of Billy Buckle and The Matchbox Mysteries.

I recommend this book for ages 8+ for readers who enjoy magic and mystery.
