REVIEW – Boyface and the Quantum Chromatic Disruption Machine by James Campbell

21246692Boyface Antelope has been waiting his whole life to go into his parents’ Stripemongering shop and use The Quantum Chromatic Disruption Machine, otherwise known as The Machine. He can’t wait to turn zebras into ponies or to add tartan to badgers. But on his tenth birthday, when he is finally old enough to visit the shop, his dad is ill. And with Boyface’s mum looking after him, she asks Boyface to be in charge of the shop.
How hard can it be to take care of all deliveries including a box of five irritable tigers and resist the temptation to use The Machine?

Boyface and the Quantum Chromatic Disruption Machine is the first book in a series.

This book is a quick, fun read, with lots of cartoon-style pictures. I read the book when I’d just turned ten, and the two main characters were exactly the same age as me! The Antelopes are an interesting and quirky family. If they were real they might be put in jail, but this didn’t stop me from liking them, as they seemed harmless and amusing. My favourite character in the book is Clootie because she is so loud.

Everyone should read this very funny book!

Boyface and the Quantum Chromatic Disruption Machine is out on 5th June 2014.
